Jim passed away on March 11th, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Charlotte Jones Kilgore, daughter Jamie Kilgore Sachs, son-in-law David Sachs, grandchildren Olivia, Naomi, and Leo Sachs, and brothers Gene and Tom Kilgore.
He was born in Nickelsville, VA and was a 1960 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He served 6 years in the Virginia National Guard. He went on to a 33-year career at Eastman Chemical Company followed by 10 years at BJ Motors in Pennington Gap, VA. Jim was a Master Mason and Shriner for most of his adult life. He loved his time coaching girls softball and was an avid fan of Gate City High School sports. He was active in Crossroads Methodist Church. Jim was a devoted father and grandfather and he loved to brag about his grandkids to anyone who would listen.
Jim's family asks that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project instead of flowers and other gifts.
